The stone gate to the Lány park
The original gate to the field was demolished in 1959. According to the original architectural documents, a new gate was designed and built.
About project
Several arched gates in the professional wall, which separated the Fürstenberg (Křivoklát) and Martin (Smečenské) estates. Important people such as T.G. Masaryk – the first president of the Czechoslovak Republic.
About the construction of the stone gate itself
The gate was built of marl, which can be easily machined into the desired shapes. Every stone in this building was handmade to the required size.
- The vault was made of large stones
- The knee stones are made of sandstone and lead to the base of the gate
- Flap sandstone slabs are cut to size of the gate
- Some elements were cut only after the stone was placed directly on the finished structure.
