Planning to attend one of our practical stonework courses and want to know exactly what to expect before you book?
Here you will find the practical information you need before booking and before travelling to the course: how to book, when your place is confirmed, what the course day looks like, what to bring, how physically demanding the work is, where to park, meals and refreshments, payment, gift vouchers, changing your course date, bringing your own project, accompanying persons, children, dogs and accommodation.
Our courses are practical, outdoor and based on real hands-on work. This is not a classroom lecture – you will spend the day actually working with natural stone. International participants are welcome. The instructor teaches in Czech and a professional English interpreter is available throughout the course.

Approximately one week before the course, we send participants the practical organisational information and a more detailed schedule.
Your reservation is created by ordering a specific course and a specific available date. If the date is shown as available, you can add it to your cart and place your order.
Your place is not finally reserved until payment has been received. Course capacity is limited, so confirmed places are based primarily on paid bookings.
If you are booking several places, select the appropriate number of participants. For companies, schools or larger groups, we recommend contacting us before booking so that we can arrange the most suitable option.
No. Payment on site is not possible. The course must be paid for in advance.
The standard payment method is bank transfer according to the instructions provided with your order.
If you are booking shortly before the course date, we recommend making the payment promptly. Your place is confirmed only after payment has been received.
You can redeem a gift voucher or discount voucher in the cart or at checkout. Enter the voucher code into the appropriate field and apply it to your order.
If you are using a gift voucher for a course, first choose your course and preferred date, add it to your cart and then enter the voucher code.
Changing a reserved date is not automatic or guaranteed. Our courses have limited capacity, and each course date is planned in advance according to the number of participants, materials, facilities and organisation required.
If you know that you will not be able to attend, please contact us as soon as possible. Requests are considered individually according to current capacity and operational possibilities.
If you find someone to attend in your place, the booking can be transferred to another participant. Please send us their identification and contact details in advance.
We send detailed organisational information approximately one week before the course. A typical course day looks approximately like this:

The course is primarily practical. Theory is explained naturally throughout the work rather than through a long classroom lecture.
At the beginning, we explain the basic principles, safety, materials and tools. Then we move directly into practical work. Throughout the day, the instructor demonstrates correct techniques, common mistakes, how to work with natural stone and the construction details that make a difference in real projects.
The aim is not simply to watch someone working. The aim is to understand the principles and practise them with your own hands.
International participants can ask questions throughout the day through the professional English interpreter, including questions about their own projects.
The course involves physical activity, but it is designed to be suitable for beginners as well. You do not need any previous experience working with stone.
You should expect to stand, walk over uneven ground, handle stone, work with your hands and spend the day outdoors. The pace is adapted to the group, however, and nobody is expected to perform a task they do not feel comfortable doing.
If you have physical limitations that could affect manual outdoor work, please take them into account before booking. The course is not an extreme physical challenge, but it is still practical work with natural stone in outdoor conditions.
Yes. Our courses are suitable for both women and men. You do not need the physical strength of a professional stonemason. A willingness to learn, a sensible pace and respect for safety are much more important.
Working with stone is physical, but participants can work according to their own abilities. Heavy stones are not moved unnecessarily by brute force, and more demanding handling is done in pairs or according to the instructor’s guidance.
The courses are primarily designed for adults. For younger participants, age, physical ability, independence and the ability to follow safety instructions need to be considered.
If you would like to bring a younger participant, please contact us before booking. The course involves natural stone, tools and uneven outdoor terrain, so safety always comes first.
Yes. If you are planning your own dry stone wall, paving, gabion, stone arch or another stone structure, we strongly recommend bringing information about the project with you.
During the course, we can discuss your situation in more detail. For many participants, this is one of the most valuable parts of the day because you receive feedback on a real project rather than only general advice.
Safety glasses and the required working equipment are available on site. Gloves may also be available, but sizes vary, so we recommend bringing your own pair.
The exact content may vary slightly depending on the type of course, but the principle is the same: you arrive for a practical course day with the working area, materials, equipment and instruction prepared for you.
Refreshments and lunch are included during the course day.
Lunch is usually chicken or pork schnitzel served with bread. If you require a vegetarian option, please let us know in advance so that we can prepare accordingly.
Unfortunately, unpaid accompanying persons cannot remain at the course site.
The course takes place on a working property where participants handle natural stone, tools and materials. We also need to maintain safe working conditions, appropriate group capacity and sufficient facilities for registered participants.
If another person would like to participate in the course, a separate booking is required for them.
Yes, we are dog friendly, but please remember that the course takes place on a working property in a rural environment.
Neighbouring properties have poultry. If your dog may react to chickens or other animals, please keep this in mind and make sure the dog remains under control throughout the day.
Dogs must not endanger participants, interfere with the practical work or move freely through areas where stone, tools and materials are being handled.
The course takes place outdoors in a natural environment. The property includes trees such as birch and ash.
If you suffer from allergies, please take the outdoor environment into account and bring any medication or other personal items you normally use. Conditions can vary depending on the weather, season and pollen levels.
Our courses take place in Novosedly, South Moravia, Czech Republic, close to Mikulov and the Austrian border.

We recommend arriving approximately 10 minutes before the course begins, at around 8:50. The course starts at 9:00.
If you are travelling from abroad and need help planning your journey, please contact us before travelling. By prior arrangement, we may also be able to organise transport from Vienna International Airport or Brno Airport.
You can park directly on the property or along the outside of the site. There is sufficient parking space for course participants.
When you arrive, please follow the instructions on site so that vehicles do not interfere with participants, materials or the organisation of the course.
If you are travelling from further away or from another country, accommodation is available directly in Novosedly as well as in nearby villages and Mikulov.
We recommend looking for accommodation in Novosedly first. This means you will not need to drive to the course in the morning and can easily return to your accommodation after the course.

Yes. If you would like to attend as a group, company, school or private team, please contact us directly.
For group bookings, we can discuss capacity, suitable dates, the focus of the course and the needs of your group. A practical stonework course can work both as professional training and as an unusual hands-on team day away from the office or normal working environment.

The course can also be an opportunity to meet people working on similar projects or in related professions. Participants often exchange practical experience, contacts and ideas during the day.

Before the practical work begins, participants receive a safety briefing and sign a declaration concerning movement and physical activity on the property at their own responsibility.
This is a standard part of the course because we work outdoors with natural stone, tools and materials. We take safety on site seriously.
The courses take place outdoors, but our facilities are prepared for changing weather conditions. Large covered tents provide protection from both rain and strong sun, so ordinary changes in weather do not automatically mean that the course will be cancelled.
If genuinely unsuitable or unsafe conditions occur, the situation is handled individually.
